Customizing iGoogle Homepage

By

Few people realized that they can customize the Google homepage, I mean, only few internet users know the iGoogle page exists.

Google.com has a plain white background, a few texts, a very minimalist in design, but is a powerful search engine. Since not all users appreciate the simplicity, Google offers them the iGoogle homepage which allows users to customize it. They can change the igoogle theme or add Google gadgets buttons.

On changing the theme for the first time,  users just have to find the Change theme from Classic on the right side of the screen just below the Advanced Search, Search Preferences, and Language Tools links. Once they have clicked that, they will see a lot of iGoogle themes to choose from. If they like a certain theme, they just click the Add it now button. One of the set of themes they can choose from are the iGoogle Horoscope themes.

Another way of personalizing the Google page is by adding gadgets in the homepage. There are lots of iGoogle gadgets to choose from. All they have to click is the Add Stuff link at the right column of the screen. Then choose a gadget they like to add from the selection. There are gadgets for weather report, for sudoku, and a dictionary, and much more. They just have to browse or search the selection for the gadget they really need.
